ABOUT KAREN ALBREKTSEN

Karen Albrektsen was born in New York City, grew up in Toronto, resided in Boston and most recently Los Angeles, has continually honed her entrepreneurial, business, and creative talents, her diverse marketing career is a direct reflection of her strong spirit of innovation.

After graduation from the University of Western Ontario with a Business and Arts degree in 1985, she became a top fashion buyer for Canada’s Hudson's Bay Company (1985 – 1994), a restaurant marketing consultant (1994 – 1998), a successful Boston restaurateur with her start-up, Betty's Wok & Noodle Dinner (1998 – 2008), and Chief Operating Officer and Marketing Strategist for the east coast division of Johnson Gray/Gray & Partners Advertising (2008 – 2011).

In 2007 - 2008, she took time off to work on the Hillary Clinton 2008 Presidential campaign and served on the board of the New England Steering Committee.

Over the years, she has been involved with several independent film ventures after joining the Director's Guild of Canada. In 2011, she founded Beanwood Films with actor/writer Anthony C. Hall. She is currently in development on a couple of independent film projects.
